I am currently enrolled in the worst college class I have ever taken. The college I transferred to requires a College Skills class… even for transfer students. So, even if I’m technically a Sophomore, I had to take it. Most of the kids in this class are taking it for their very first course. And the professor is awful! He’s disorganized, does absolutely no work (we submitted questions for the final) and had taught us absolutely nothing. I feel sorry for the other students. They are in for a rude awakening when they are faced with their first real class. What a waste of money and time… Thank goodness next week is the last class.

I attended my nursing orientation. Wow- now I’m scared! On a sad note, I took my dog Levi to the vet for shots. He has a torn ligament in his knee, and the vet recommends a $2400 surgery. I would give up my horse budget… no questions asked… for my Levi. My husband however is very hesitant to spend that sort of money on a dog.

I got my letter of acceptance yesterday! I’m in, I’m in, I’m in! My oldest daughter was accepted into the gifted program at her school yesterday too…. and I’m very proud. And… I went and rode the coolest draft cross yesterday. Hubby said I can have him…. but we’ll see…. the owner’d have to come down on price… vet check needs to be good… etc. He’s super-cute though… and huge!

I’ve been on Spring Break from school this past week, and it’s been lovely. Unfortunately I did not get the work done that I’d planned. My Developmental Psychology class has 2 assignments due April 9th… and I really did mean to work on them. I swear! It’s just that I really spent the week at the barn indulging my horse obsession. I got some work done, but not nearly what I had planned. I’m going to have to kick it into high gear this week. No work on nursing school….

Did I ever tell you that I’m horse crazy? Like… completely off-the-rocker-actually-thought-I-was-a-horse-as-a-kid horse crazy? I take horse lessons on a weekly basis (weather permitting) but I would really like to be at the stables more. Much, much more. I’m a beginner rider, and really, really want to improve….. but of course I need practice. What I really want is a pet. I want to play, groom, and hang out with my own horse. I want my horse-crazy daughter to bond with it. And while technically we could afford the monthly nut, it would really tighten the budget. Dammit.
